Trying to sit up

We are trying to teach Cohen how to sit up. So a couple of times a day we will prop him up so he gets used to it. Really, for him, he just tries to grab his toes the whole time. Too bad he is not very flexible so he is not able to get his toes- but he is so cute trying. I can't believe he is already at the sitting up stage- time has flown by.

Sleeping!

The last couple of weeks Steve or I will go to get Cohen out of his crib in the morning. You can hear him just talking to himself for about 10 minutes before he wants to get out of bed. So we go in there and he is never in the same position that we put him in to go to bed. He is usually upside down or horizontal in his crib- we've even had him flip onto his stomach- he doesn't like that very much. In these pictures he has kicked off all his covers and we put him to bed facing the other way- he is starting to get so mobile, but it isn't as bad as it will get so I am enjoying it while I still can.

The guitar

Steve would play the guitar for Cohen and he would smile and laugh. We are trying to teach him how to sit up on his own, so we were propping him up on the couch and he would reach for the guitar and hit it- somehow he thought he could fit it into his mouth (like he thinks everything will). Maybe, with any luck, he will be musically talented like his dad!

The ZOO

I took Cohen to the zoo a week and a half ago. Unfortunately it was too cold for him to really get out of his stroller and look around- not like he really would care at this age. But I thought it would be fun to get out of the house. I met up with my friend Ashley and her little girl Mikayla. Cohen did really well and really enjoys his stroller.
Cohen had fallen asleep on the way home from the zoo and I thought he looked so cute so I had to take a picture.

Cereal

So we tried giving Cohen rice cereal a couple of weeks ago and he wasn't really sure what he thought about it. So I tried some more yesterday and he ate for about 10 minutes. It was so cute, every time I would bring the spoon close to his mouth he would start waving his arms and get all excited. So I think he is starting to enjoy it!!

Cohen and Grandpa Bowers

There's that tongue!

My dad was teaching Cohen how to stick out his tongue when he's concentrating really hard. My dad does it and Cohen was doing it while he was playing with grandpa's palm pilot. I only got 1 shot of him sticking out his tongue, but it was so funny. Cohen loves his Grandma and Grandpa Bowers- most of the time.

Stone Cold Chillin'

This is the patio outside of our hotel room in Cancun. When Cohen would get fussy we would take him out there and he would calm down almost immediately- Where's that patio when I need it here?

Steve says that Cohen is stone cold chillin' everytime they are just lounging around and hanging out. Steve is Cohen's favorite person- he smiles for Steve way more than he does for me. Maybe it is because he gets sick of seeing me all day long.

Steve and Crystal

Steve and I were able to go out to dinner a couple of times and out for walks, it was so nice to have some alone time on our vacation (as you can imagine we don't get very much). My mom was so nice to stay with Cohen- I wish I was back in Cancun some days.

Grandma Bowers

Cohen loves his Grandma Bowers. We wouldn't have been able to do anything without her. She was awesome!
Her and Cohen were best buds. She would take him on lots of walks in his stroller- which he loved. That was the easiest way to put him to sleep- so cute.

We hung out by the pool. I'm telling you she made him laugh all the time. Here she is playing with him by the pool- he was just laughing like crazy.

The Ocean

Cohen went to the beach for his first time. Here Steve put him in the sand so that a wave could come up and just touch his feet...
...And here is the result of the water, the problem was that Steve didn't move him back when the wave came, so it went up to his waist and scared him. Needless to say he didn't enjoy it as much as we hoped.
Steve walked Cohen out into the water- he liked that, except it was really sunny in his eyes when I took the picture.
We bought him a swimming suit it was really cute
2 very handsome guys!!!

Matching Daddy

Steve bought some shorts and then found some pants and hat that matched for Cohen.
Be hind them is the main pool- it was so nice.
So Grandma was getting Cohen to smile like this- he wasn't smiling for me, but hey could that get any cuter.
Here is one of the hallways, everything was open to the outside. Cohen was looking all over the place. What an adventure for him.

Cancun

We got back form Cancun last Tuesday night. What a fun trip we had. Cohen did great and he discovered many things. Like his stroller, the ocean and lots of new people!

There were a whole bunch of restaurants that we could go to because it was an all inclusive resort. Here we were at a buffet and Steve was letting Cohen try fruit for his first time- he had pineapple and mango. He loved it!
Our first day. You can always tell the people who just arrived to the resort because they are the whitest- not tan or burnt as many people were.
Cohen was trying to eat his toes for the first time. He's trying to be flexible. Yeah, one more thing for him to chew on.
We took a shopping trip to Cancun and Cohen did really well. He slept most of the way there and back. Here is Steve holding Cohen while he is sleeping on the bus. I thought it was too cute.
Here is us at a restaurant called Senor Frogs. We ate there at the end of our shopping trip. We got to go to kind of a flea market and their mall, but then we got hungry and decided to eat. This restaurant in on the water, and in the background is part of Cancun.
