Pears- yummy!

Cohen got the go ahead to start eating fruits and vegetables- I thought veggies first but my doctor recommended fruits. So pears it is. I actually was so excited that I ran to Wal-mart and bought a whole bunch of baby food- I think I am more excited than he is- obviously. Cohen has been sucking his lips lately- and this was no exception.
He's not quite sure what to think about all of this.
He is teething so he is more interested in chewing on the spoon than eating the food.
And he is already in do it myself mode- he wanted to hold the spoon and put it in his mouth.
And despite my efforts he managed to make himself a mess, and he also hit my hand while I was feeding him and flung pears all over the table leg and my pants- we really need to get a high chair.

The Doctors

We took Cohen to his 6 month check up yesterday. He was laying on the table waiting for Dr. Sojourner to come in- she is an awesome doctor. He was laying on that crinkly paper and so he was making all kinds of noise rubbing his hands over it. Steve is so nice to come with me every time because I can't hold Cohen down to give him the shots- so Steve does it. Cohen gets to start solids now- he is also only 14% in his weight and 50% in height- I guess I should start feeding him? But he is a perfectly healthy boy, and everyone there thinks he is so cute- Our doctor said she was going to take him home. Well we think he is pretty cute.

6 Months Old

Well Cohen is six months old. I can't believe it. The first 4 month I kept track of, but this last month just flew by. Before I know it he will be one.
Well he got his first 2 teeth #O and #P to be technical. they are just barely out of the gums and so they are hard to see, but he is so cute.
This picture is kind of blurry, but you can see his toes really well.  I have scheduled his toe surgery for June 4th- if you can't tell by this picture his last two toes are webbed. Steve and I are actually going to miss those cute little toes, but it will be better in the end.

We love our happy, cute little boy- Happy 6 months Cohen!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my first real Mother's Day. It is so fun to have Cohen-I love him and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a mom ! It is so nice to have a day where we are able to think about our moms.
To my mom, I love you and appreciate all that you do for me. I am so grateful to have you close by and be such a part of my life and Cohen's life. Thanks for everything you have done for our family, and your willingness to help. My only wish is that I will be as awesome a mother to Cohen as you were to me, Heather, and Craig. You are my hero!
To Steve's mom, I wish you lived closer, or that we lived closer to you. You have raised such an amazing family- especially Steve (in my opinion). You are an amazing person who I love and a great example of motherhood. We appreciate all you have done for us- we love you!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU AMAZING MOTHERS!

Happy Birthday Olivia

Our niece is turning 6 today. A week and a half ago we went to her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's- she was so cute. She loves baby Cohen. She used to yell "Hi Cohen" into my tummy before he was born. I would tell her she had to say it really loud so he could hear- and that she did. She is such a poser in these pictures- what a character. We love our Olivia- Happy Birthday!

Jumperoo- Something New to Play With

We got Cohen a jumperoo. We set it up about a week ago. He doesn't entertain him for too long because he gets too frustrated with it. He can barely reach the ground and the toys don't go in his mouth- so he just sits there and reaches for them until he gets too frustrated. It's kind of like torture, I don't know why we put him in it, but he sure is cute!

Welcome Home Uncle Craig

Craig came home from Iraq last thursday. He has been there for 7 months and in North Carolina for a couple of months prior to that for training. My parents had made a big banner for him and put yellow ribbons and flags up around their house to welcome him home. My favorite part was to have Cohen meet his UNCLE CRAIG! It was cute , Craig carried Cohen around the house while he was getting a tour. Craig came home to a new house and new ward. Of course he has a big bedroom. My parents are loving having him home and so are we.
