SNOW

No wonder our power went out-we had some snow drifts 3 1/2 feet tall. We are getting so much snow this year. And I don't know how that random picture of Cohen got in the snow blog- so enjoy more pictures of him!!

Christmas 2008

Christmas was great this year. Cohen woke up at 6am and the power went out at 6:30am and did not come back on until 10:30. It was finally light enough to open presents at 8:30 with outside light. Cohen loved all the presents Santa brought him, and mom, dad and grandparents. We all had a great morning- no homemade poptarts until noon when we could bake them at my parents house. We had a great progressive dinner that evening. Lots of snow!!!! We couldn't hardly drive down our street and kept getting stuck driving into our circle. Thankfully my brother-in-law Danny came by- it only took the both of them 2 1/2 hours to shovel the driveway together.

We Have an Announcement!!

No these aren't pictures of Cohen these are pictures of our newest member of the family- A BABY BOY!! It is a long story. Most of you knew I was pregnant. Yesterday was my first doctors appointment and our family doctor told us through blood work we were about 9 weeks along as an estimate obviously. So we went and got an ultrasound done and we were expecting to see this tiny olive sized baby and maybe get to hear the heart beat. Well when she put the ultrasound on Steve and I were both like holy cow that's a real looking baby. The ultrasound tech was like well you look a lot father along than you thought- 15 weeks and 2 days. I skipped 1 1/2 months of pregnancy- how nice is that. SHe said I might be able to tell you what it is. Steve and I were so excited- and sure enough Cohen is having a baby brother. I was excited for either and not even thinking gender for a while- so I am so excited to have another boy. And he was so cute in the ultrasound kicking his legs. I love boys!! We feel truly blessed and are excited for our new arrival June 6th!

The Carousel

We went to South Towne Mall last Saturday to do some Christmas shopping. As we were eating lunch Cohen was amazed by the carousel- so we took him on it for the first time. Before the ride was moving he was just patting the horse- then once it started he was shaking because he didn't know what was going on. By the end he was just looking around and loving it! I think it was just as much fun for Steve and I to see him having such a good time!

The Birthday Cake!

Cohen was at first really upset because we stripped him down to his diaper and took him away from his toys. But after he saw this cake in front of him he was very interested. Then he started to slowly pick at the frosting and eat he cake. His cousin Olivia was making him laugh so hard- that's why he is laughing in these pictures- so cute! By the end he was a disaster- cake was going up his nose and all over his face. Cohen loves cake!!!

The Party

Cohen got a lot of fun presents for his birthday. By the time we were opening the last present he knew what was he was supposed to do.

What a mess-he still loves playing with all his new toys. thanks everyone for buying toys to entertain my son.

He found a new love- balloons! we still have some around our house and he plays with them every morning. The other day Steve had two balloons stuck to his head- he is so fun.

Cohen's 1st Birthday!!

I can't believe my baby is 1. His birthday was on Friday November 21st. Most of the day he was a little cranky hence the picture above, but then we ran some errands and went to Grandma Bowers house to "help" frost his birthday cake. As you can see he is a really good helper at cleaning the dishes. We had a fun day!

Presents From Grandma and Grandpa Brough

Cohen received a package from Grandma and Grandpa Brough in the mail. We opened it up and the most exciting part was the packaging. He sat inside the box for 15 minutes playing with the packing peanuts. He thought they were the coolest things. After a while though he just wanted to eat them.
These 2 pictures are of Cohen spitefully trying to eat the popcorn peanuts while I'm telling him no. And then him screaming above because I took it away from him-he is quite strong willed.

Look what I got!!

As happy as can be!

Laundry basket

This is the only way I get to carry laundry to the laundry room is if he is in the basket. Otherwise he wants to be held and it takes me forever. So now even when we aren't doing laundry he loves to go for rides.
I don't know what's up with the tongue....
Or this sly look on his face...

but he sure looks so cute- I love the things you do Cohen!

I VOTED

Cohen came with Steve and I to vote yesterday- he did really well. Okay I bribed him with fruit snacks, but he loved the I voted stickers. So our state got it right but ultimately our country didn't pick the candidate I wanted. I do really think it is cool that we have our first African American president and that we got to experience this amazing historical event. Now it's time to have him prove himself- so we will see how the next 4 years go!

Trunk n Treat

This was our second year doing the trunk n treat- last year we didn't have Cohen but I love passing out candy to all the cute kids in costumes. So this year we had our little "animal" come with us and he loved it. Actually he had no expression on his face the whole time. He just stared at all the kids and wouldn't do anything. Afterwards he spent an hour playing with his candy- so that was a huge hit! We love our ward! After awhile he was getting anxious to get down so he crawled around for a minute- his pants were so dirty- yuck! But he had a great time and so did we.

Giraffe

Cohen is a Giraffe for Halloween- and he looks so cute in his costume. He actually wears it really well which surprises me- I think it's because he's so distracted with everything else going on he doesn't care what is on his head.
