Some More Pictures Of Carson's Birthday

For dinner on Carson's birthday we celebrated with his cousin Jackman who has the same birthday as Carson. They had an amazing cake made out of cupcakes shaped together to make a dinosaur. Yummy pizza and bread- remember Carson's life revolves around food! Holly was so nice to let us blow out a candle too. Carson did not know what to do- he kept trying to touch the candle- so I ended up blowing it out! Happy birthday to 2 very special boys!!

Giving Thanks

As most of you know our birth story with Carson it was a really scary experience. Today I had a lot of reflection on the day a year ago and I am grateful for all of the people who helped Carson and myself. Carson was born at home on our bathroom floor at 1 am on the 24th of May. It all went so fast and most of it was a blur. I am so grateful for the 911 dispatcher who talked us through delivering Carson and for how calm he stayed. I am so thankful for the fire men/ paramedics that came and cute the ambilical cord so we didn't have to and took us to the hospital. Sorry but all modesty was out the window in this experience and they were no nice and calm and didn't make us feel awkward. I think Carson would have had a lot more problems if they hadn't come so fast. It makes me cry just thinking about our little miracle and the blessing we receive in our lives. So I have been wanting to tell the fire department thank you for a long time now. So what better day than his birthday. So we went and picked up a giant cookie that said thank you on it and took it to the fire station. They were so nice. They gave us a tour of the whole station, told us how everything worked, gave us an inside look of all the equipment and their fire trucks. They took a good half an hour so show us around- and they were so nice. They gave Cohen a plastic fire man hat and tattoos, they let him sit in the truck and play with the sirens, and look at all the lights. Cohen had made a new friend with one of the guys- he was so nice to pick him up and show him around- hey whose birthday was it anyway? Carson was just shy and smiled the whole time. I am truly grateful for law enforcement and the risk they take to take care of others. It was a great experience!

Big News!

Carson also graduated form the back facing car seat to the front facing car seat- yeah! He thought it was so great and kept laughing and squealing the whole way to our next destination. I love being able to turn around and see this cute face. Now I have two big boys!

Breakfast/Luch

You will notice a lot of these post have to do with food- well it happens to be Carson's favorite thing. We had muffins for breakfast- which he ate a whole one himself and then we went to Chili's for lunch where he had macaroni and cheese which he loved. This child will eat until he gives himself reflux so bad and he starts choking- poor thing. But he won't stop! We put a cute 1st birthday shirt on him today- too bad it was snowing all morning so he had a jacket covering it, but it was so cute.

1 YEAR OLD!!!!

This will have to be done in several blog posts. Our baby turned 1 today!!! I love this little boy- he is so cute and fun! Our day started out with us giving him a whole bunch of books for his birthday- he loves books and you can see them scattered around the floor. Also we blew up a lot of balloons for him. He loves to play with balloons. I was trying to get him dressed while the muffins were baking in the oven and as some of you know Carson has started the great adventure for crawling. He's not great at it yet but he is getting around and enjoying it- he works so hard to get those little legs working. Doesn't he have such a cute baby body!

Sugar Bugs

This wasn't taken yesterday but on last Friday for a wedding we went to. Isn't he sooo handsome. Well Cohen went to the dentist to get his two cavities filled. He was so excited to go and he kept saying- get the sugar bugs off. So cute but little did he know what was in store for him. We had his appt. at 7 am so it was early which was good because he couldn't eat or drink anything that morning. We went in and they gave him quite a big shot in his arm and he cried and in less than a minute he totally glazed over and you couldn't talk to him- it was so sad I cried after they took him back. I of course hadn't slept that night and I didn't eat because I didn't want Cohen to see me eat and not be able to- that is just cruel and unusual. So they didn't end up having to give him the IV I don't think because the medicine was enough and they fixed his cavities, took x-rays and did a cleaning in like 30 minutes. But then he wouldn't wake up for another hour- that was hard you just keep tickling him and poking him and he wouldn't wake up- so sad! Finally he did and Steve had to go back to work so I stayed and took Cohen and Carson to the car and poor Cohen was just out of it and could barely open his eyes. Then he started dry heaving and throwing up (not lots) because he didn't eat. Poor thing! And I was freaking out. So we made it home and I had to get Carson fed and put down for a nap and Cohen was coming out of it a little more- mumbling words and trying to sit up but he would just fall over. After another hour of holding my little guy on the couch he was talking normal and acting normal and wanted to eat- he ate lots of food- and I was like please don't throw up anymore. He kept wanting to walk and play but he would take a couple of steps and fall over- poor thing. Then he took a nap at 12:30 and after two hours he woke up and was perfectly normal- yeah! He was a little more cranky that day but they said that was normal and we went out to buy him new cars and ice cream sandwiches. I love this boy so much and I am so glad he is doing great and is not in any pain. He makes me laugh everyday- he is such a sweetheart!

Today!

I know you are all probably sick of seeing the same blog post so I thought I better stop slacking off!

I was feeding Carson his baby food and Cohen goes "mommy I found a house" and I was like that's nice- and he's like " No mom I found a house" and I turned around and he had shaped his sandwich into a house- I was so proud of that 2 1/2 year old- he is so stinking funny. Doesn't he look so much older in these pictures. It's like he stays the same for 6 months and then all of a sudden grows up! He is constantly saying super cute things. We have been trying to teach him to be polite and say no thank you when he doesn't want something. So on the way home from the grocery store I was like okay Cohen are you ready for a nap and he says "no thank you mommy"! Lets just say he is watching TV instead of napping because how can you deny that!

And here is our sweet almost one year old! This child literally will not stop eating- he will keep eating as long as you are willing to feed him. He is starting to eat solids a little better. And the other BIG NEWS: He is starting to crawl- yeah!!! So not great yet but he is starting to get up on his knees and then lunges himself forward- hahahaha. Once he gets it he is going to be so busy! I love driving in the car with him because he just talks and jabbers to himself the whole time. He is super exhausting at this age- all he wants to do is hold your fingers as he is walking around the house- and he can do it for like 30 minutes and if you put him down or pick him up he starts screaming! Let's just say our backs are sore a lot!
