2 months

Carson turned 2 months last friday- of course I am such a slacker and have not blogged about it yet. He had his appointment with the doctor on Monday. he weighed 13.4 lbs=86% in weight, 23 1/2 inches long=69% in height. He is such a chunky baby- we love him so much. He is really healthy- he just cries a lot at night- yes we think he is colicky. How did I get 2 colicky kids? They say 1 in 5 kids have colic, so I hope there are 8 other children out there who are not troubling their parents with colic because I have the 2 out of 10. We did test for his thyroid because he plays with his tongue a lot- and I guess that is a sign of a thyroid problem, but it came out normal. We just love this little guy.
Anyway he is starting to smile more. He is a really snuggly baby. He goes to bed around 8-9:30 pm every night and sleeps for 4-5 hours and then 3 after that. So I can't really complain, except I am up at 6 every morning with either one of my kids.
This is a picture of us at the zoo last weekend. Carson did great- obviously, I will do a blog of that later.
This is how we take a lot of naps at our house- in the swing. Thank heavens for swings.
This is a picture of him in super cute flip flops- no he doesn't wear them a lot, because they really don't stay on very well. But I had to take a picture because they are super cute!

4 Chairs, 5 Blankets and 6 Pillows

= The best family night ever!
So I was thinking to myself all day what could we do for family night that Cohen would enjoy- with a 20 month old you can't do a real lesson or anything. And yes I know that tonight is tuesday, but I wasn't able to be home last night and I really want to be consistent with FHE. SO I thought Cohen would like a fort. So Steve and I grilled hotdogs, had ice cream sandwiches and built this awesome fort and watched Shrek for the first time with Cohen. It was a huge hit. as you can tell Cohen loved every minute of it.

Carson was also involved with all the fun. He is almost 2 months now. I would say it has gone by fast, but he has been a little bit of a fussy guy- but he is so cute and chunky- we just love him. Cohen adores him. Everytime we go anywhere he says baby baby, because he wants the baby to come along- so cute.

Best of friends

So if any of you have little guys or girls this age and don't know what to do for FHE- here is an idea for you that was a big hit for us!

Carson's blessing

Carson got blessed on July 5th 2009
Okay I look totally retarded in this picture, but it is the only one I have of my parents and me so here you go.

This is our sweet little family, as you can tell Cohen does not like to be held to get his picture taken while my parents are in the room- so not the best picture, but true to character!
Our sweet little boy got blessed yesterday. Steve gave a beautiful blessing and a lot of our family and friends were there to share it with us. We love this little guy and are so grateful he is part of our family. he is getting nice and chunky- we are estimating about 12 pounds and he just turned 6 weeks old. Our little Carson is soo sweet-we love his little personality. Nights are getting a little easier and we hope they continue to do so. He is healthy and we are truly blessed to be his parents!

Grandpa Brough

Grandpa Brough came to visit last week and Cohen was so excited to see him. Here he is taking Cohen for walk- which totally won Cohen over- he loves being outside. Having my father-in-law here is great. Both my in-laws are so awesome and so good to me. My father-in-law is up early every morning and so Cohen always loves to play and wrestle with grandpa in the morning- it is fun to hear. I say hear because this is going on around 6:30  in the morning and I usually get up at 7 so I am in bed listening to them playing.

Super Cute

You can frequently see this around our house. Cohen trying on any shoe he can get his hands on- yes even my shoes. I just think  it is so cute. I don't know if this means he is going to love shoes when he is older, but it looks like he is going to be an expensive child. But a cute one!

Grandma Brough- Carson's Best Friend

My mother-in-law came on June 2oth and it has been wonderful. Carson has loved her from day one. She has been soo amazingly helpful to me. For example she stayed up until 1:20 last night holding my baby while I slept- and this hasn't been the first night, actually it happens most nights. She has found the perfect way to hold him- he just snuggles up with her and is so comfortable. I get showers and naps and a super fun shopping buddy. She goes home this Thursday and honestly I am so sad- I wish she could be here all the time. I am so lucky to have such an awesome mother-in-law, I feel so blessed.
